What is the fix for lost internet connectivity when the cipherscale session starts?

Check your firewall settings and allow incoming connections to the cipherscale app.

The cipherscale app needs to accept incoming connections. When the firewall on your device is active, it may block incoming connections to cipherscale app. Check whether you can authorize incoming connections to the app when the firewall is active, and if possible, do so.

Here are the steps to enable incoming connections for the macOS firewall:

  1. Launch System Settings.
  2. Navigate to Network > Firewall
  3. Click Options...
  4. Find cipherscale in the displayed list of apps, and if set to Block incoming connections, change to Allow incoming connections
  5. Click OK
